Miss Germany donates headpiece to UST

After Miss Bulgaria, Violina Ancheva, gave her gown to a teen for her prom, another contestant donated something for the Philippines.

Miss Germany, Johanna Acs, donated her headpiece to the College of Fine Arts and Design of the University of Sto. Thomas (UST).

Acs said, she decided to give a part of her national costume as a way of saying thank you for the warm love the Filipinos gave her.

Miss Universe National Costume Presentation✨The costume represents the Brothers Grimm🇩🇪The Bothers Grimm from Germany were among the best-known storytellers of folk tales during the 19th century and popularized stories such as Cinderella, The Frog Prince, The Goose-Girl, Hansel and Gretel, Rapunzel, Rumpelstiltskin, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White etc. With the National Costume we wanted to make some of this stories come alive. This outfit had over 300 LED lights that the live audience got see better than on the screen (on this photo they are not visible). The costume is designed by @xtian_collection and thank you also to @talkwithjacob for the amazing castle and @hmbaughman for helping with the details. #missuniverse2016 #missuniversenationalcostume #65thmissuniverse #missuniverse #xtiancollection #missuniversegermany

"It’s just a good gesture because the Philippines has treated us and me so nice so I just wanna say thank you and leave a small part of Germany here in the Philippines," said Acs.

The headpiece was given to interior designer and UST graduate Sol Albar, who said it will be featured in an exhibit at the University.

Acs is still in the Philippines enjoying the waves of Palawan.
